Connect
We believe that being connected, living and doing life "in community," is the only way to have a truly victorious Christian life. This type of Christian experience with others helps to connect you in the Body of Christ, focus on others, and establish meaningful relationships that will produce peace, joy and an overcomes mentality.
Jesus was connected. He had close friends that He "did life" with. He ate with them, walked with them, joked with them, and ministered with them. He developed meaningful relationships with them and developed a strategy through which all humankind could be introduced to Kingdom life. Too many modern-day Christians have such a hard time doing anything other than going to a 1 hour church service. It's time to connect and iWC can help.
The early church connected in very natural, organic ways: "Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts" (Acts 2:46 NIV). They loved to eat a good meal together, laugh together, and pray together in one another's homes as well as in their larger "church" gatherings. Here at iWorshipCenter, we have developed smaller connected "communities" that exist within our larger congregation: women, men, couples, young adults, singles, youth, children and seniors. Some of these connect groups even have a hobby or and activity as the bonding agent. Within this context, small groups meet weekly in homes, coffee shops, the mall, even the workplace, or wherever they can gather. In these small groups there will be worship, fellowship, teaching, serving, and even outreach. Within each community, some groups focus more on Bible teaching curriculums, some on ministry, and some on community outreach. If you are interested in a Connect Group a full list is available at your local iWC-campus.
One of the greatest ways to connect at iWC is our Encounter Retreat Weekends:
What is an Encounter?
By definition, Encounters are life changing events that result in being well connected to the Father. We believe that the first step in becoming a disciple happens as the Lord set you free from a life of sin. Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32 NIV).
The Encounter Retreat is a weekend short course in freedom - freedom from bad habits, bondages, bitterness, wrong thoughts, and past mistakes. At the Encounter, the Lord will set you free through the power of the cross.
Who will be there?
Each Encounter is led by an iWorshipCenter Senior Leader or staff member along with a group of well qualified and trained assistants. Men attend "Iron man Encounters" (only men attend), and women attend "Sisterhood Encounters" (where only women attend). Youth (+crosscultre) and children's (KidZone) Encounters are not gender-specific.
What is the schedule for the Encounter?
Encounters generally run from a Friday evening until noon the following Sunday. Participants arrive at the designated retreat location by 6:00 p.m. Friday for registration, room assignments, opening session and an evening full of fun activities. High energy teaching and inner-active sessions continue throughout the weekend until approx. 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. At that time, participants will arrive back at the North Campus for a time of celebration.
Train:
We can always lean more. Even Jesus "grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man" (Luke 2:52 NIV). Therefore, once you have connected in relationship on an Encounter weekend retreat, it's now time for you to grow and learn.
At iWorshipCenter, we understand that Biblical training is vital to living a victorious life but we realize your past experiences with "Sunday School" may have left a bad (boring) taste in your mouth. Therefore, Senior Staff have written and designed much of the training materials we use in order to help you develop to your full potential and fulfill God's magnificent plan for your life. The early church held classes and services where people learned doctrine: "And they continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers" (Acts 2:42 NKJV). At iWorshipCenter training is fun, exciting and not your grandma's Sunday School class. After your Encounter Retreat weekend you'll be ready for our iWC classes like: Fire Starters and School of the Spirit. Training and discipleship has never been so much fun!
Serve:
"Connecting" and "training" have a focused purpose at every iWorshipCenter campus. Serving enables us to use our training and gifts in the body of Christ and in the world so we can become everything God has created us to be. Our purpose it two-fold; to know Him and make Him known. This attitude positions us as tools in God's hand to accomplish great things for the King and His kingdom: "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Eph. 2:10 NIV).
Your area of service my take you to the door as a greeter, the nursery, as an usher, or as far Africa to be a missionary. The point of service is that your do it in the name of Jesus and wherever the Spirit of God leads you to minister of the Good News. At iWC we do not believe in volunteers because on the day you gave your life to him you already volunteered for service. At our core we believe ministry s a delight and a privilege.
Perhaps God is leading you to get involved at and iWorshipCenter Campus. You will not regret it. Come and be a part of the solution to the despair that is all around. iWorshipCenter is here to help you be a vital part of changing lives and shaping the destinies of those around you. From our food distribution programs to television ministries, our small Connect Groups and outreach activities, This is the place for you to make new friends and belong to a fellowship that makes a difference.
Finally, we believe in on-the-job training Just like Jesus and his disciples. Your particular ministry desire may involve very little orientation or require more extensive training. Either way we will remain committed to helping you with whatever level of training you need to accomplish your ministry goal. Nothing will stop you from reaching your destiny! iWorshipCenter works closely with www.FiveFoldInternational.org for those individuals seeking ministerial credentials and covering.
